Valbona Valley is the most popular location for locals and foreigners alike to visit in the Kukes Region. The valley is dominated by high mountains which offer fantastic views and varying colorful, seasonal panoramas. 

The Valbona River, with its source at Prokletije Lake, near the Montenegro border, which it's crystal clear waters wind throughout the valley. There are a number of spectacular waterfalls and sandy banks located in Valbona Village. 

The name "Valbona" comes from a small village in the valley. This mountainous region is great for hiking, camping, and exploring the Albanian Alps. There are numerous waterfalls which are easily accessible by marked hiking trails. Valbona Valley is settled at the base of the Albanian Alps and is apart of an international Peace Park which stretches across the borders of Montenegro, Albania, and Kosovo.  From the Valbona side of the range, it is possible to hike to Thethi, another major tourist attraction in Northern Albania.
